What is a Library Liaison?
The goal of the library liaison program is to encourage communication between the library and each college at Western University of Health Sciences to ensure that we are responsive to each college’s needs and concerns.
We are your starting point for assistance and can help you with any questions, concerns, or recommendations regarding the library. We connect you with resources you need for learning, teaching, and research, customized for your college.

What can your liaison do for you?
Librarians can assist you in many ways:
- Attend curriculum meetings, conferences, seminars, events, workshops, and presentations
- Curriculum integration, development, and library instruction
- Present on a variety of research-related topics for faculty and staff professional development
- Perform literature searches & research assistance
- Perform faculty library orientations
- Perform new student orientations
- Assist with commencement ceremonies
- Attend final presentations
- Small group or individual library instruction outside the classroom
- Collaborate with the LEAD office
- Citation review
- Plagiarism checking
- Serve as information filters, sending relevant material to each college
- Assist with searching for articles or books
- Inform you which articles are available immediately and which articles need to be requested from another library
- Help set up a table of contents alerting service that will periodically send you updates when new articles match your search criteria become available
- Develop the library’s collection for your college. To recommend purchases, you may use this form.
- Observe classes and/or rounds to help further develop college-specific library resources
- Assist with identifying where to publish
- Assist with obtaining copyright permission
- EndNote assistance
